Legislation authorizing two congestion pricing demonstration projects in Northern California and two in Southern California has been set for hearing. The bill would define “congestion pricing” to mean the assessment of a charge on motor vehicles using local streets and roads in a participating jurisdiction and the change could vary based on the time of day or the day of the week. The potential cost to contractors and the impact on construction vehicles ability to move freely within city areas has made this bill a priority oppose measure. If your company does work in major markets like Los Angeles, Oakland, Orange County, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose or Stockton, we request you submit an opposition letter on your company letterhead today.
A draft opposition letter is attached for your use. Please fax copies to the numbers listed on the letter next to the addressee and those cc’d. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Politico Office directly at (916) 444-3770.
