NFPA-70E

The National Fire Protection Association developed NFPA-70E at the request of OSHA to provide the requirements for Electrical Safe Work Practices in the electrical industry. This course is designed to provide attendees with a clear understanding of the rules and regulations related to this standard, it’s relevance to Federal OSHA regulations, and guidance and rules related to proper risk assessment, control of electrical energy, selection of personal protective equipment, the care and maintenance of equipment and the selection of electrical protective devices.
Attendees will be evaluated on applying the provisions and requirements of NFPA-70E. A copy of the NFPA-70E Standard will be given to each attendee. This course will be presented in eight separate modules using PowerPoint slides following the articles and sections found in the NFPA-70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. This expanded course will also discuss employer and employee responsibilities, a systems approach to safety, qualified persons, electrical safety management systems, planning and elements of control, and best practices.
