DESCRIPTION:Short Circuit\, Coordination Study and Arc Flash Study \nThis presentation will cover the NECA Requirements for Short Circuit\, Coordination Study and ARC-Flash Analysis. \nShort-Circuit Interrupting Rating (SCIR) – NECA Article 100 Definition \n\nHighest current an OVER-CURRENT DEVICE (fuse or circuit breaker) is rated to safely interrupt an electrical fault condition\nSelf-protection rating only\nThe highest current EQUIPMENT can withstand without extensive damage (fire or shock hazard)\n\nSelective Coordination – “Coordination” Studies are performed to improve system reliability. As of 2005\, National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 100 Definitions. \nArc-Flash Analysis – Since arc-flash hazard warning rules were added in 2002\, they’ve been revised every Code cycle. Arc-flash label must indicate the voltage of the system\, the available fault current\, the clearing time of the overcorrect protection device(s)\, and the date the label was installed. DESCRIPTION:This class will discuss the recent fires in Napa and Sonoma Counties and the expected impacts on the construction industry and governmental agencies’ responses\, including worker supply\, costs\, handling of toxics cleanup and expedited permitting. Mr. Dan McLennon will also help contractors understand and cope with more than 20 new laws that directly affect contractors in California starting January 1\, 2018. Bills addressed will include AB-1701 that makes general contractors directly liable for unpaid wages and benefits owing to workers of subcontractors of any tier. Also\, Dan will highlight many bills likely to move forward in the California legislature in 2018 that contractors will want to watch and influence.

SUMMARY:EPS Level 1 - Napa
DESCRIPTION:A good foreman is often a company’s most valuable asset. This course will provide important knowledge and skills for foremen with a wide range of responsibilities. It will enrich an understanding of the business and process of construction and enable IBEW foremen to ensure that work is done correctly\, safely\, within budget and on-time. Anyone interested in improving their skills as a foreman should attend this training. This class is a requirement to qualify for foreman callout by name (where applicable).
