SUMMARY:EBUCC Educational Forum
DESCRIPTION:Short Circuit\, Coordination Study and Arc Flash Study \nThis presentation will cover the NECA Requirements for Short Circuit\, Coordination Study and ARC-Flash Analysis. \nShort-Circuit Interrupting Rating (SCIR) – NECA Article 100 Definition \n\nHighest current an OVER-CURRENT DEVICE (fuse or circuit breaker) is rated to safely interrupt an electrical fault condition\nSelf-protection rating only\nThe highest current EQUIPMENT can withstand without extensive damage (fire or shock hazard)\n\nSelective Coordination – “Coordination” Studies are performed to improve system reliability. As of 2005\, National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 100 Definitions. \nArc-Flash Analysis – Since arc-flash hazard warning rules were added in 2002\, they’ve been revised every Code cycle. Arc-flash label must indicate the voltage of the system\, the available fault current\, the clearing time of the overcorrect protection device(s)\, and the date the label was installed. Basically\, if you follow the guidelines of NFPA-70E as they relate to labels\, you’ll meet the new Code requirement. \n  \nThis course is worth 0.15 CEU’s \nPlease email Juanita Mitchell with the Chapter office to register your attendance.
